Ronin Samurai Jiu Jitsu Gi

MMANonstop Review: I purchased the Ronin Samurai Jiu Jitsu Giin June 2013 and immediately fell in love with the particular cut of the Ronin brand gi. I am particularly fond of the premium duck canvas pants which are much more comfortable for me when training as they tend to move more freely in training. Ronin brand gi’s are designed by Doug at Kinji San Martial Arts out of Brooklyn, NY with the artistic designs of local artists like in this case the Samurai gi design was exclusively produced for Ronin Brand by legendary BJJ/MMA artist Meerkatsu – well known to those who frequent the mixed martial arts chatboards around the web. This gi has lasted me over eighteen months of training at least 2x per week, being washed and dried each time and it still feels as strong as the day I first put it on. I have since purchased a second Ronin brand jiu jitsu gi, the Legacy model in white, and I have had great results from that model as well.

From the manufacturer: The Ronin Samurai Jiu Jitsu Gijacket cloth is a 420 gsm weight jacket made of traditional pearl weave material. This is a ideal for competition and daily training. Lightweight & Preshrunk with an ideal fit. Standard Triple reinforced stitching across all stress points. Cloth is a fast drying and fully breathable. Full Features: -Chest – Full Embroidered Ronin in a blood script font. -Newly designed Ronin Brand Logo on the bicep area & bottom of pants. Japanese style moon crest. Traditional Ronin brand feather logo with the more Samurai style house of Chrysanthemum. Together they make for a much bolder and warrior like emblem. Exclusively design from Bjj artist Seymour Yang AKA Meerkatsu. -Inside of the jacket – Samurai Print. Samurai vintage line art based on old print. Designed to achieve a better look when faded during washes. -Collar/Lapel is made of a heavy duty extra firm EVA foam which is fast drying and anti-bacterial. Wrapped with 11 oz. Premium duck canvas. -Rear woven Samurai head patch. This will come loose in the bag which means that you will have the option to sew it on. -Rear Jacket Lower Tail – Full Embroidery with Blood script font & Japanese Kanji that translates to Samurai Jiu-jitsu. -Pants – Made of soft 100% cotton 11oz. duck canvas with 6 belt loops & heavy duty thick stretchy rope tie. Please click on images to enlarge. Belt is NOT included. A Ronin is a Samurai with no lord or master during the feudal period of Japan (1185-1868). Now your probably asking if the Ronin has no master/teacher then how did he learn the arts ? A samurai became masterless from the death or lost battle of his master, or after the loss of his master’s favor or privilege. Samurai Ronin always wore their two swords. They had expertise with a variety of other weapons such as the Bo/Jo Staffs, Bow & Arrow.
